MP horror: Refused to drive vehicle, Dalit man ‘forced to drink urine’ in Bhind; 3 arrested
In a disturbing incident in Bhind district, authorities have detained three suspects accused of kidnapping and violently attacking a Dalit driver hailing from Gwalior. The individual revealed harrowing details of physical abuse, being coerced to consume alcohol, and even being forced to ingest urine before being left deserted.

BHOPAL: Three men were arrested in Bhind district for allegedly assaulting and humiliating a Dalit driver after abducting him from Gwalior and taking him to Surpura village, police said on Tuesday. The victim alleged that the accused thrashed him, forced him to drink liquor, and compelled him to consume urine before fleeing from the spot.According to police, the incident took place on Monday night. The victim, who was later admitted to Bhind district hospital on Tuesday morning, told police that he previously worked as a driver for one of the accused, Sonu Barua, 22, a resident of Datavali village. He recently quit the job and was living with his in-laws in Gwalior’s Deendayal Nagar. On Monday night, Barua, along with his associates – Alok Pathak, 40, of Datavali and Chhotu Ojha, 27, of Bhind – allegedly reached Gwalior, abducted the driver, and took him to Surpura village. There, they allegedly beat him up and forced him to drink liquor. The victim claimed he was also made to consume urine before being abandoned in a semi-conscious state. He later called his family members, who rushed him to the hospital. Additional SP Bhind, Sanjeev Pathak, told TOI, “The incident took place on Monday. All three accused were arrested.”

Additional SP Bhind, Sanjeev Pathak, told TOI, “The incident took place on Monday. All three accused were arrested by Monday night. All are from the same community. They were produced before court on Tuesday, which sent them to jail. Whether they forced the victim to consume urine is yet to be verified and is a part of the investigation. Prima facie, as per the complaint, the victim was thrashed allegedly because he refused to drive the vehicle of the accused, but whether this is the actual reason is also a part of the investigation. Things will be clear once the investigations are over.”Police said a case was registered under IPC sections for assault and abduction, along with relevant provisions of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. A medical examination of the victim was conducted, and police said further action will depend on the report.
