BATHINDA: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Faridkot police was suspended on Wednesday for allegedly tying up her five-year-old granddaughter to the iron gate of their home when her parents were in Portugal.Neighbours came to check when they heard the child wailing and found her hands and feet tied with lengths of cloth. Their intervention forced the ASI to free her. After a video clip of the incident surfaced on social media, the 55-year-old ASI was placed under suspension. She was taking care of the child as her parents were abroad, said police. It’s not yet known why she subjected the five-year-old to such punishment According to police, neighbours knocked on her door when they saw the child in distress but no one answered.
