Social media influencer Sufi Motiwala grabbed a lot of attention with his stint on The Traitors. After the Karan Johar-hosted reality show, Sufi went on to star in the web series Do You Wanna Partner. Ahead of the show, Sufi was in the news for his fall out with The Traitors co-contestant Apoorva Mukhija. Though the two stayed tight-lipped about their fall out, Sufi explained what went down in a recent interview with SCREEN.
Talking about what went wrong between them, Sufi Motiwala said, “There is no drama as such. Nothing happened between us. After one point, I had the realization that in my head, we were best friends, whereas in her head, I was just her friend from The Traitors. We were just not on the same page, so then I took a step back. That’s just about it.” Apoorva and Sufi first bonded during their time on the reality show The Traitors. They were often seen collaborating on social media and even partying together a few months after the show. However, some time ago, the two unfollowed each other on social media, hinting that their friendship had ended.
Before his fallout with Apoorva Mukhija, Sufi Motiwala also had a clash with The Traitors winner Uorfi Javed. The two carried baggage from the past and were even seen sharing cold vibes on the show. In the interview, Sufi also remarked that certain social media influencers have been tarnishing the reputation of the entire community. Sufi said, “Everybody at the end of the day is trying to get their moment. They want to get their five minutes of fame. There are two ways to go about this – I could start name-dropping and say I hate this person, etc. All of them can become headlines, but then the industry will not talk to me. That’s how things work. So you have to play your cards very wisely. With me, I have to be here for the long run, so I have to work harder at maintaining my relationships and developing my art. I will do that rather than working towards quick fame. I don’t want to diss someone unnecessarily or bring them down just for views. I have reached the rationale that I have enough face value that I can say something cancelable tomorrow and get a million views.”
